dizainparaugs_home Industrial designs are protected by the Latvian “Law on Designs”, effective since November 18, 2004. Full text of the law can be found at the Latvian Patent Office’s website.
An industrial design is the appearance of the whole or part of a product, which is protected by a registration certificate.
A product is any industrial or handicraft item, also parts intended to be assembled into a complex product, packaging, trimming, and graphic symbols.

In regard to industrial designs we render the following services:
  • execution of application documents for filing with the Latvian Patent Office;
  • provision of recordkeeping until the issue of a registration certificate;
  • performance of European Community and International industrial design registration procedure;
  • provision of filing documents regarding changes of industrial design owner, name or address with the Latvian Patent Office;
  • consultancy in regard to drafting a licence contract.
